We didn't have what he wanted, so accept it and move on. It takes two parties to consummate a deal, and Vegas had what Adams wanted. You can't just stack up pieces if the individual you are working with is interesting in only one thing. If someone is looking for that mint '67 Mustang, your Porsche and Ferrari are not going to be of interest to them. It's just the way it is.
I think the issue here is that the people that are mad now are people that just wanted Treliving to "Overpay" to get a deal done.

People were willing to move Monahan, Valimaki, Zary, 2022 1st, 2022 2nd and potentially more (Pelletier). But the issue is that as fans we can just say "overpay to make the deal", but we aren't the GM.

And since the Hamonic trade where Treliving clearly "overpaid" to get the guy he wanted, and it failed, he's been gunshy to make that same mistake.

He doesn't want to lose a trade, or be seen as overpaying, and I do think it's what's caused us to end up as the runner up on a lot of these deals over the last 3 seasons.

Sometimes you need to be willing to "lose" a trade to get the guy you want.

In this situation I think what sucks is that it doesn't even feel like Vegas had to overpay.

Krebs is good prospect but I'm not sure how much better than Zary he truly is, Tuch is okay but may be a bit overrated from playing on a good team, and a 2022 1st with top 10 protection is completely reasonable.
