I'll always appreciate what Bettman's done for the league, he turned the NHL from a joke of a sideshow into a proper sports entertainment business, and people forget how much he did to save many Canadian franchises from failing in the 90s. But he's absolutely tone-deaf when it comes to stuff like this.
He's a lawyer that only wants to think of the business angle. And it certainly doesn't help when his go-to guys like Campbell and Daly are incredibly arrogant and even more tone-deaf than he is
