I don’t think there will be a price where I will say “I am glad the Flames didn’t pay that”. Last year when Dubois was traded for Laine and Roslivic I was quick to say that was too rich for the Flames to pay. Our equivalent would have been Tkachuk and I would not have made that trade. I don’t think it is possible for me to feel that way with Eichel.

I am pretty pumped by the start. This team is playing very well so it looks like they have a good shot to make the playoffs but still 75 games to go. All signs point to a team that has bought in to playing the way their HOF coach wants and their franchise goalie is looking every bit the $6M man right now.

To me where this team is at and where they want to be they really needed to make this trade happen. Our blueline would be the biggest weakness but a team with Eichel-Lindholm-Backlund down the middle and Markstrom in net is a cup contender especially with wingers like Gaudreau and Mangiapane on the team.

There won’t be a better player than Eichel available for trade again in this short 2-3 window they brought Sutter back to try and win. Treliving can’t close a deal anymore. Changes his roster through Free Agency and bungled the highest pick in franchise history.

I am done with Treliving if these Vegas rumors are true
No matter who gets Eichel there will definitely be a wait and see until he returns. This is not healthy ready to go Eichel.

There are risks I would take but we can't pretend this is a healthy player either. He may never be the same.
