I would have been happy seeing it happen in the off season despite the risk with Tarasenko because maybe the plus would have been bigger. Now it's probably less, but should still be something decent given the high probability of STL being able to lock Matt up long term.

I think that boat has sailed, but if you add Zadorov (the Blues are said to be looking for a defensive LD) and retain whatever salary you need to, to make it work, I think that you can call that boat back to port. Tarasenko is playing great hockey right now, but the rift with management was health and safety related, and that isn't getting fixed.
