Right or wrong its helping add fuel to their fire, and it is clear even 90%+ vaccination isn't going to stop variant breakthroughs. But luckily, unvaxxed are the ones taking the risk, if you're vaccinated the 'real' risk is gone (death/serious complications). Sure you can contract it but the breakthrough death rates are laughably lower compared to many other common diseases we do not take this approach on.

The goalposts keep changing because the game keeps changing. First off, the disease was unknown. Then it was what protective measures would protect against it. Then it was holding out until a vaccine was available. Then it was seeing how effective vaccines would be and how many doses would be needed. Then it was variants and vaccine efficacy on those variants.
