Hate defending the 'other side' but whatever - Canada does have a high rate of vaccination already, and your bottom two paras could literally have been written a year ago, which is the point a lot of vaxx hesitant people are making as the goalposts keep changing.
Right or wrong its helping add fuel to their fire, and it is clear even 90%+ vaccination isn't going to stop variant breakthroughs. But luckily, unvaxxed are the ones taking the risk, if you're vaccinated the 'real' risk is gone (death/serious complications). Sure you can contract it but the breakthrough death rates are laughably lower compared to many other common diseases we do not take this approach on.
