I have been a big Sam Bennett fan, but there is a time we probably could have garnered a good asset by trading him. I think the Flames need to trade quality to get back what we need to improve the team.

I think it’s speculated that both Johnny and Monny were available in the off-season if Treliving liked the return.
The fact that neither was traded seemed to indicate that the return wasn’t good enough, and Treliving hoped both would rebound and perhaps increase their trade value.
Unfortunately the opposite happened.
