Apart from the tired "virtual signaling" nonsense, there is no proof that fighting polices the game in any fashion. Players are still roughing it up and pushing the line after the hit, which wasn't intentional in the first place.
You want to get him back? Do it in-game without punching a human being in the head.
You'll never convince me fighting is needed tactically in the modern NHL, especially with everything we know about CTE and the measures the NHL is taking to curb that in the structural bones of the game.
