Gaudreau is having a great season.
Monahan is having a fairly mediocre season but doing well on the PP and/or getting points off Gaudreau.
Monahan made 2 brutal giveaways for goals Saturday and made another terrible giveaway in the offensive zone last night which led to 2 minutes of prolonged pressure by the Canucks and almost tying it up.
He is however good on the PP and good and made a good pass on the winning goal.
Monahan is what he is and he's not Johnny Gaudreau.

LOL. Monahan scores a bunch in past season - he’s just getting points from Gaudreau. This year he feeds Gaudreau a bunch (including some really nice passes) and he’s “getting points off Gaudreau”.
As for individual plays, I never focus on those because mistakes happen. He partially fanned on one pass which Gaudreau didn’t pick up on (the poor ice didn’t help) and he got blocked on a pass. He was also a big part of Bennett’s goal and had two great chances himself.
This is IMO Monahan’s best start to a season in a while despite not having goals.
