I suspect that Bennett's regular season production is a bigger factor in his trade value than his playoff numbers.

You are not seriously comparing Bennett to Savard, are you? Savard established himself as a bonafide top-six NHL centre with top-line upside prior to the trade. Sam Bennett has not come remotely close to that sort of distinction.
I am certain that the Flames are not the least bit concerned about Bennett turning into a player as effective as Marc Savard. Sure, they need to be careful to get good value for him, but this is not at all likely to be a true that results in Bennett suddenly becoming a star forward. He just isn't, and he won't be.
