Assuming you need 65 points to make the playoffs, the Nucks need to play .663 hockey for the next 40 games (half a season). Last year, 1 team (BOS) played at a higher pace than that. TBL was .657
The Nucks cannot play .663 for 40 games.
Other than the 3 games against OTT, they are 3-10-0 this year, which is a .231 pace.
If we give them 6 more Ws against OTT, they would still need to go 20-13-1 against the rest of the division.
It's already over for them.
