No doubts ward is a good x and o guy, but this team leaves you screaming for more effort and give a crap and he just may not be the guy to do it. Might be why he has been a valued assistant/associate for so long.

Had the same idea about Torts the other day. Also made me think about why an experienced coach was important. Experienced coaches know how to handle a lot of situations that an unproven coach just doesn't know except through trial and error; Even then that coach may still not get it.
Guys like Torts and Sutter know how to motivate players to play over the top and bring results consistently, New coaches may have some skills be great x and o's guys but if they can't motivate or get more out of the players they won't get the results needed to go all the way.
