Point only has 2 years left on his contract and is from Calgary.
Don't see why he wouldn't choose to consider Calgary if he becomes a UFA. Barzal is always from Western Canada. Don't see why he wouldn't want to sign in Calgary at some point.
I think there's a good chance that Dubois never puts up a lot of points.
His career high is 61 points. Matt Stajan had 41 points in 55 games when he was traded to Calgary, he then put up 57 points that year (however, he was 25 and Dubois is only 22). Dubois is obviously a lot better. My point is that sometimes players suddenly stop progressing, so there's always a risk in making projections.
Having a "chance" to become a bona fide elite center is not the same as already being an elite center. Monahan has had an 82 point season. I think there's a strong possibility that Dubois barely eclipses this.
