No, he’s not. By not allowing a player to play in the WJC you’re minimizing the risk that they get injured and can’t get play in the regular season... for their NHL club that profits off of them. It’s a very simple concept. If they get injured during NHL play, it’s on the job. As an owner would you want a player bull riding during the season?
And the injury isn’t going to happen anyways. If Dach didn’t play in the WJC he’d be ready for game one of the season. Chicago was ok with that risk as a rebuilding team. Some teams aren’t.
