Demko softens the blow of losing him. Like I said earlier in the thread, I don't want him to go, but when he was brought in it was to be stop-gap for the next guy. He just happened to turn into a bonafide #1 in that time. Him leaving would suck, but the reality is that was always the plan, even if something had changed.I have a solid belief in Demko continuing to develop like he has at every level he has played to be come a bonafide #1 as well.

You can do a look into the Canucks system, if you want. It's very similar to the one used by the Islanders, where they keep everything to the perimeter and allow a lot of low percentage shots. Islanders happen to do it better because their defence isn't a tire fire in the bottom half. I have no illusions about how important Markstrom was in making that system work for the Canucks, there is zero doubt he is our MVP. I am also not ignorant to the fact that this system also played to Markstrom's strengths.

You're a decent poster but serious eff off with all this Canucks talk. If I wanted to hear about the Canucks I'd go outside.
Feel free to mute me. It's a thread about off-season trades and rumours where in the Canucks are a major part of the biggest looming trade currently in the NHL and the Canucks #1 goalie is a pending UFA where in your own team is one of the main people apparently pursuing him.
