I think a lot of fans fail to realize how small the margins are between losing and winning in the NHL.

Did anyone expect the Blues to win it last year? Did anyone expect the Stars to be where they are at? The Islanders?

Heck, Vancouver was outplayed routinely basically all playoffs and still made it to game 7 of round 2.

It takes a lot to win the the playoffs. You have to be good, but you also have to have a few bounces go your way. At least the Flames showed me they could compete this year. The Dallas series felt very different than the Colorado one. I never saw anybody give up.

No idea if Ward is the right guy, but I didn’t hate the way the team responded to him. If they do hire him it won’t be a sky is falling moment from me.

If they keep building, add a couple of pieces I’ll still be excited to see what they can do.
