Considering the other major flames rumour revolves around another coyotes player who the flames either plan on signing in free agency or trading for his rights (don't remember where that rumour came from), I'd say this rumour has serious legs to it.
I don't think Friedman is tossing a name out there, I think he's providing us with a glimpse into very real conversations currently underway.
Edit: Treliving also loves a blockbuster and his team has basically demanded a substantial change be made after two major playoff blowouts in a row.
The flames also need top 4 D, and perhaps a major minute muncher.
This trade rumour has all the hallmarks of something that's pretty realistic.
