While I would also say no, this is wrong.
OEL ranked 2nd last on his team among D-men in Giveaways/60 at 1.94/60.
That is right in line with Gio (1.93) and only ranked 123rd out of 215 defensemen that played 400+ minutes this year.
In the last 3 years combined, OEL ranked 162nd out of 256 defensemen that played 800+ minutes during that span at 1.87/60.
So he's not even close to being in the top half of worst defenseman on a giveaway/60 rate, let alone being a giveaway machine, whereas someone like Brodie (who Flames fans hated the last couple years prior to this year for his giveaways) ranks 37th in the same time period at 2.82/60.
