You need a #1 centre who plays a 200 foot game in today’s NHL or your chances of contending are slim.
That’s Couturier. He’s their most valuable player in their quest for a Cup.
He’s not being traded for a one dimensional winger who is trending downwards and is horrific in the playoffs.
They wouldn’t make that trade if Johnny was coming off an 80 point season and a decent playoff.
