The line is what it is. One guy is dynamic and can control the play, and the other two have lesser puck skills. Too easy to defend that. Gaudreau is a premier player, Lindholm and Monahan, in particular, need others to drive the play and manipulate the defensive structure of the opposition. I would suggest a first line needs a couple of threats to create odd man scenarios, and line one doesn't offer that. I think Monahan and Lindholm are giving effort, they just don't possess skills that make them dangerous when controlling the puck.
