If a hockey team wants to give up the outside and limit chances from the slot it's an effective strategy if you can counter off it, and don't give up so much time in your zone that you get exhausted and can no longer prevent the other team from taking it to the blue paint.
That's what I saw.
The team was under siege for most of the 2nd and 3rd periods with some special team goals keeping it interesting.
Talbot has been great ... but he gets beat to the wholes he's not covering (like Lemelin), and is getting a lot of goal post help. Scares the crap out of me.
