Sorry to say, if he has to think too much or feel pressure to make a play, he ends up hesitating too long and being ineffective or worse.
But, simply go tell him to go out and hit and create and use energy and then wear down the other team, and collect the loose picks you create with that enrrgy, and all your linemates are going to do the same in Lucic and Dube? That he can do.
Stand infront of the net with your stick on the ice on the pp? That he can do.
But his game has to be simple and in the playoffs I think he is comfortable to be simple. In the reg season he's not comfortable with that role and is trying to put up stars or whatever, and he falls flat.
Therefore, keep him chugging on the third line and put him infront of the net on the PP if MT is out. Putting him on the top line is not going to do him, the top line, or the third line, any favours right now.

The 2nd 5v5 goal Gaudreau's been on the ice for these Playoffs came with Bennett on the ice when the 2nd goal was scored.
Bennett was the only Flames player on the ice for 2 goals for 5v5.
In the 4:45 he spent with Monahan and Gaudreau today, they had an xGF% of 78.63%.
Bennett, Dube and Lucic have literally been carrying this team on their shoulders the entirety of the playoffs
