I love UK toasties, another favourite over there. Not much to them really but they are ubiquitous and usually the cheapest things on the menu. Maybe I just love them because they don't cost 4 pounds or more.
In urban Australia your typical sandwich is as follows:
Turkish bread
avocado
tomahto
grilled chicken
salt & pepper
maybe some rocket if they are trying to be pretentious
In rural Australia it is as follows:
