Also, I wasn't comparing Gaudette to Tkachuk and Gaudreau the way they are now, was comparing him to when they were prospects. Gaudette put up huge numbers before going pro, so him having some early success in the NHL is not really a huge surprise.
Gaudette didn't really achieve anywhere close to what Gaudreau did in University though.

He and Mangiapane are fairly alike. Similar in age, Mangiapane out-produced Gaudette last year by a handful, Gaudette out-produced Mangiapane this year by a handful.

It's worth noting that Gaudette starts way more in the offensive zone while Mangiapane starts more in the defensive zone. Neither guy is really counted on shorthanded, but Gaudette had many more powerplay opportunities, and 12 of his points came on the PP, while just 1 of Mangiapane's did.

They are the best comparables.

EDIT: Oh, and Gaudette sucks at faceoffs even more than Pettersson, so there.
