With everyone else the question for the voter is “Is he better than Trump?” The difference with Sanders as the nominee is that the voter is left with another question of whether they can vote for a socialist or not. You can’t ignore that there are a number of people that will say no to that question and will either stay home, split their ticket or vote for Trump. I am very skeptical that Bernie’s young support is enough to overcome that. There is no evidence that he is bringing out large turnouts in these primaries. He actually now trails Biden in popular vote so far.
