C'mon Tim admit it....It's profit insurance that basically needs to only work once for one customer to give you something to sell the consumer. If all buyers of new cars all agreed to contribute say $8 a month into a communal fund and anyone who needs major repairs within the time of the extended warranty period can take from that fund to pay for those repairs. I bet that fund would still have money in 5 years and be able to pay back some type of dividend to everyone who paid into it, plus pay for any repairs that people needed.
