I don't disagree but I think it's more about the timing of how everything played out though.

If the Peters incident were to happen today (assume the Flames record is the same as it is right now) I wonder what the outcome would be.

At the time of the Peters incident I didn't think there really was a clear "name" out there that really made sense for the Flames to go out and chase.

Babcock was the only fired coach, and there was no way the Flames were going down that route.

But if that same decision happened now for example do the Flames still go with Ward and the interim tag? Or would they have taken a longer look at one of Laviolette, Deboer, Gallant?

This is where I sit too.

Results have been better, play really hasn't been that much better. Which is why I think the right long term decision would be a guy like Gallant. Think he could be a good long term fit here as coach, and has a proven track record.

The only other name in rumours right now that might be a better fit would be Boudreau. Might just work better for the roster we have right now.
