He'll get fired, publicly. The flames marketing machine will share they have zero tolerance. There will be an NHL anti-racism campaign.
Shamed Peters will briefly apologize, share he has growing to do, and quietly go in the night. He'll go on "sabbatical" for 3 years, and will have an ok severance.

I hedged, on Peters reacting similarly to how Vanbiesbrouck did. John apologized unequivocally, resigned and went on his way.
Conversely, Peters & his counsel must have identified, he may not have the decade long window of repair, and instead are holding firm --> it was so long ago that he apologies, and has grown. His salary expectations in the KHL would be a lot closer to $100k then $1m.
Do the Flames have a nuclear option here? Surely, they wouldn't allow this dismissal be heard and on public record. IAMAL, but the length of time since it occurred, worries me in the Flames avoiding having to pay
all of the remainder of monies owed.
