I agree with the fraud comment. This team eeks out wins on skill alone, and because of the skill level, they only have success against unsuccessful teams (our record vs. playoff/non-playoff teams last year I believe shows this). Execution is still horrid. The hockey is ugly and unentertaining.
Even when the Flames do execute, it’s incredibly inconsistent and unsustainable for this group. Those 60 or so odd games last year seem like a total anomaly for this group, and in a larger sense for this organization. Comparing this team to teams like the Capitals, Blues, Bruins, or evening the relentlessly hardworking Islanders has me questioning what’s the point. This team has rebuilt itself into the exact same quality of team we saw during the Iginla era. Nothing more than a ill-constructed, inconsistent team with no real identity.
