Bob Hartley used to talk about how important it was to keep playing young players so that they would gain confidence. Bennett would the first to tell you he probably wishes he could take bad penalty back. Bennett played very well last season and gained confidence through continued support for his drive and feisty role but already some want to trade and run him out of town again.

Also, he was at best a decent third liner last year so don’t know what the heck played very well’ junk is. He played well enough to not lose his spot on the third line. And I, for the record, have thought he should have been run out of town years ago before he caved his value on account of being a bad hockey player, which he’s unfortunately done now.
