Wouldn't Lazar have been paid more for being up at the NHL level for a bit? Even though he didn't draw into a game, that in itself is recognition for his work in the AHL this year.
"Thanks for the hard work, here's a possible chance of drawing in if someone goes down, and also a nice little payday."
I'm sure he doesn't mind if that's the case.
