Maybe I just have selective memory, but I don't think any of us were saying Dougie was the "best defenseman in the NHL," and I didn't think anyone outside of the Flames thought that much of him either. Now the Leafs might acquire him after a very underwhelming first half, and he's suddenly a top 6 defenseman?

Boy, the Toronto hype machine is running a bit fast. Usually we have to wait until after a player throws on a Leafs jersey before they become coronated as "the best ____ in the NHL."
