Flames got away with a point they probably didn't deserve. Dallas was the better team last night, but Calgary was still in a position to win. A little disappointed they couldn't pull this one off. Some usual comments that seem to come out after every game.
I don't get the Derek Ryan love from Peters. The guy generates nothing out there, yet he is given plenty of ice time and prime PP time. Yeah, he can win a faceoff, but does that mean he should be given all the opportunity in the world like he's getting? He has to start generating something. He's a drag on the team and has yet to show any chemistry with anyone.
Sam Bennett needs to start scoring. Outside of earning a PP assist off a Ryan PP goal, and Ryan banking a shot in off of Bennett's pants, Sam remains stone cold. I get that he's hustling and bumping, but he needs to start generating scoring opportunities and finishing.
Jankowski needs more ice time. He's passed both Ryan and Bennett in scoring, and while getting no PP time and 4-5 minutes less time per game. He's 6th on the team in P/60 and should not be 20th in average ice time on the team when he's generating scoring opportunities consistently. Imagine what he could do playing with better talent than Hathaway and Dube. Time to give him opportunity with better players.
