Calgary's right wing position was incredibly weak when he signed. Unfortunately for him, he was unable to make the opening line up or to establish himself as a regular on the NHL roster throughout the season. I don't think he made the wrong choice. There was a lot of opportunity on the Flames last season for right wingers and I'm sure the team would have been ecstatic if he grabbed hold of it, but he took a while to adjust to the pro game even at the AHL level.

I like him as a player and think that he still has some potential to be a regular NHLer. He is going to have to really make an impression the next opportunity he gets.
