This is such archaic thinking.
Try going to a job interview all dressed up at Facebook. I've literally had friends interview only to have the interviewers lightly rib them about their suit while the interviewer is wearing a t-shirt.
Are tech engineers not professionals? I don't know a single engineer that wears a suit to work. Modern companies have come to realize that just cause you're wearing a suit doesn't necessarily mean you're a talented engineer.
