How he is regarded is one thing. What he has actually done is another.
Either way, coaching a stacked roster with elite players top to bottom, in a short tournament, has a very big difference from the reality of coaching a NHL roster, through a NHL season, and subject to opposing teams having a large body of work on which to base their scouting.
Also, moving from team results to individuals, look at Eric Staal before, during and after Peters. I am sure there is an explanation, but again, I don’t understand how this looks good on him.
