You are not Kipper. You don't get to decide when you feel like facing the music or not. You are not infallible in this crap of a season, even with your goals by a defenceman lead. Baring a personal reason that would excuse him, this kind of behaviour (I believe) is an indicator of an individual that does not put the team first.

Maybe I'm off base, maybe he has a legit reason. Or maybe he's just that introverted and can't deal. Dougie is an NHL star defenceman though and he needs to stand with his teammates though it all. Just grinds my gears is all.
So kipper gets a pass but Hamilton does not? Thats sounds fair.

Lets check the boxes for Hamilton:
Is a Veteran - Nope
Wears a letter on his Jersey - Nope
Long time Flame - Nope

If Calgary believes that the 24 year old in his 3rd season should be up there doing this interviews they are doing it wrong. Or maybe they know better and thats why he wasn't available.

Hamilton is one of the most liked players in the room. He is consistently lightening the mood, playing pranks and is a friend to everyone. Is this the guy the flames should have up front with media showing a serious/mad face and talking about a down season?

The irrational hate on this board for Hamilton is at a point where it is just plan ludicrous. What more could this guy do to make people happy?
-Played all 82 games and finished top 5 in +/-
-Was the only player to play all 82 games that finished positive in +/-
-Finished 5th in team scoring......Yes 5th.
-Finished second in GWG
-Consistently played 20+ minutes a game against the top lines.

But i guess irrational hate can be all over him because he plays positional and doesn't throw big hits like Phanuef, which worked out so well when he missed the hit. "Anyone can do that playing with Gio look at Brodie". What about when he was in Boston? I guess it was his partner there too. When Gio retires if Hamilton is still here it will probably be his new partner again who is floating him.

This is why we can't have nice things because the second we do we #### all over them. Johnny with his diet, Hamilton with his "soft" play, Monahan "will never be a #1 centre".
