The coach has explained all of this. Moreover, there are dozens of responses in this thread and today's PGT which have echoed his explanation. Why do some posters continue to ignore this?

Has this management or coaching staff ever uttered this mantra? This was the
modus operandi of a previous regime, and I wish people would stop using it as an indictment of the current hockey ops dept.
