Whilst I am well aware that the US doesn't want this and so it isn't going to happen it is by no means difficult or expensive if the political will and public desire exists, the government has no obligation to buy anything back, they just make possession and offence and start collecting and arresting those that don't give up their guns, if there is political and public will then there are no constitutional issues, an amendment can be cancelled, the 2nd amendment can be taken out of the constitution with the stroke of a pen,
