Your second paragraph is all conjecture. We don't know how the season shakes out but thus far what we do know is, even with amazing goal tending, the team has NOT taken a step forward.
You were being sarcastic... and I pointed it out and insinuated that you should back up your points, how is that craziness?

My point is that we were a lottery team the year before GG, he was hired and we became a playoff team who, despite being swept, actually put up a good fight against a very good Anaheim team - if we had better goal tending it likely would not have been a sweep, you can't put that on the coach.

Most of what goes on on these forums is conjecture, a practice you engage in regularly, so i don't know what the relevance of pointing it out is. With amazing goal tending this team hasn't taken a step forward, correct. They also haven't taken a step back. They are at .500 after 12 games. Even the best teams in the league have stretches that long of .500 hockey or worse throughout a season. The sample size is too small to judge GG on THIS season. Judge last season - as I said previously, without GG we were a lottery team, with GG we made the playoffs - fairly significant progress. Obviously, not all the progress is because of GG, but some is. Just as any of the Flames shortcomings aren't all on GG, but some likely are.

Based on the results, it doesn't look like he's a poor coach... please convince me otherwise. I don't think you can, based on the results the Flames have improved during his tenure. IF come April the Flames look worse, or haven't shown improvement we can have the discussion about GG, but, IMO to say he's not a good head coach at this point doesn't really seem fair.
