Monahan's instincts in the offensive zone are elite. There is a reason he seems to score goals so easily.

The point is if remains the player he has been for the last few years, he will always be reliant on his linemates setting him up for success. He is unable to create anything on his own, and 3 years after his draft and he still skates in molasses. Scary traits for your #1 center.
Honestly I believe BT should try and go all in. Monahan + d prospect + ? for a signed Tavares. And trade Bennett for Galchenyuk or Reinhart because he baldly needs a change of scenery at this point. We'd finally get our franchise elite center, and a skilled winger to put on RW (as Galch/Reinhart are both comfortable RW'ers). Also call Janko up, and replace Bart with Kulak.
Gaudreau - Tavares - Reinhart/Galchenyuk
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Ferland - Jankowski - Jagr
Versteeg - Stajan/Lazar - Brouwer
Giordano - Hamilton
Brodie - Hamonic
Kulak - Stone
