Youre going to grab a 1080 as well, yeh? I assume you meant your old card was a 970, which will be good but a bit underpowered for 1440p.
Also, a couple setup tips: make sure ypu enable gsync in the Nvidia CP, and remember gsync works best on Fullscreen, the windowed modes, even tho they are now available, arent as good. Also remember to set your refrsh rate to 144hz in the CP and turn OFF vsync/triple buffering in any game you run.
Tftcentral has good color settings for the monitor but everyone has a diff preference.
