Check out some of the quotes from him regarding the Flames:

All his criteria can be met by the Flames and obviously it was reciprocated from the Flames side as we had contacted him. When he was asked about the Flames he didn't shut the idea down either. To me it sounds like there's mutual interest and I don't think there's a more perfect situation for Jags. I feel almost too confident that it's going to happen. |
The Flames called him July 1. Now they can afford him, and they have a newly minted $1.95M centre who needs a winger.
