But that's the thing, it has become clear since the election that many people didn't actually know what they were getting because they were woefully uninformed about what Obamacare was or did. Now certianly not being informed is on them but since people have become informed the polls on Obamacare have swung in the opposite direction with a majority of americans liking it or thinking that it should be used as the framework for improvements.

The public does NOT like what the GOP is doing on this subject whether they voted for them or not. Depending on the poll it's even questionable if a majority of republicans support the GOP on this option.

What this is, is a party hell bent on doing what their ideology is without listening to the actual public. Yes they were voted in partly for this reason, however, as public opinion changes they need to be able to respond with something other than hard core, stick to it ideology.

Heck they can't even get the support of the insurance companies or the large majority of medical associations. Literally the ONLY people this will help are the wealthy. Oh sure some younger people will think it's great not to have a mandate on them...until they get sick and can then never get decent coverage when they'll need it.
