That's a wildly unusual opinion of human nature. Guys joining ISIS have nothing to lose. They're poor, persecuted and hopeless. Khadr has a choice. He can literally go back to his mud hut in his crap bucket country (not being pejorative here, they literally blew him out of a mud hut). Or, he can live in a free country (albeit Edmonton) and go to nursing school with ten million bucks in the bank. No one is going to take option a no matter how much brain washing they had as a kid. The myth of Osama Bin Laden giving up hundreds of millions for his cause is in fact that, a myth.
