Here's mine... we have seen a few assets immediately flipped in the recent past, like in the situation with Martin Jones. Dallas is clearly the best trading partner for Anaheim, but Anaheim is higher on Bennett. Ok. So, if Anaheim throws a top D at Dallas, would a return to Calgary of 3rd overall and the rights to Nichushkin be enough? Both assets would be expansion draft ineligible.

So we can go on and trade that 3rd overall pick when he has a tough statistical year of his own at age 20? What's the point. Bennett would probably go #1 in this draft had he been eligible. Why don't we let our future elite player continue to develop. Says a lot that an organization would say this about a player after his team got SWEPT by said team. The kid is a special player and some very important minds in hockey agree. We will have (at least) four homegrown elite forwards on our team in 2 or 3 seasons and I can't wait for when it inevitably happens.
