I agree, I dont want to burn a bunch of cap or assets either, but the problem with Elliot is that you never know which Elliot you're going to get. He could be splitting duty and be lights out amazing or completely terrible and that all affects the play of the team in front of him.
If players dont have confidence in their goaltenders it changes the entire way they play.

Elliot was either significantly below average or significantly above it. I think we'd have killed for average.
