Yeah I have read a lot of "we were better in game 1" stuff as well....im wondering by what measure is that?
Flames were outshot, out-chanced, gave up 2 on the PP and only got 1, were destroyed in the faceoff dep't, and most certainly were the weaker team mentally. If not for a heroic effort from Elliott that game was a 4 or 5 goal blow out.
People made fun of "old man" Burke when he stated the team needs to get bigger and tougher. Even I thought he may be off on that thought as the game has changed so much the last 5 years or so, but the truth is...he is/was right.
The Ducks are bigger, meaner, smarter and deeper than the Flames.......its just by how much? Not a whole lot IMO but enough to make difference.
Calgary may have a slight edge in speed but that's about it the way things stand right now
