What about Devan Dubnyk? He got bounced out of the two worst teams in the league in Edmonton and Arizona and then lands in Minnesota and got a Vezina nomination.

I think coaching has a lot to do with goaltender success. However, that being said, its also a collaboration between the goaltender, the goaltender coach and the rest of the coaches.
Kipper did get a look in San Jose and it was a pretty long one over two seasons with something around 45 games. Not a great look but he did get his chance in San Jose.

When someone offers you a second rounder for a goalie with Kippers pedigree at the time, you take it every time. When Colorado wanted Berra we jumped at the second rounder.

And anybody who watched Dubynk knew he had skill. Just look at his numbers with edmonton. Very respectable numbers for being on the worst team in the league. I always thought Dubynk was a good goalie.

The system the goalie plays in I think makes the differnce in success. Look at when Quick has went down with injury the last few years. Pretty much every goalie jumped in and did a pretty good job in his spot.

I just don't think a goaltending coach change will make a differnce. I guess it can't hurt but don't see it making a real change.
