Not that big an explosion at all...look at the standard highway concrete dividers at the bottom of the picture to get a sense of scale, not to mention that most of the burned out structures are about the right size for standard roll-on/roll-off shipping containers, like you see on a train. A walk from those to the buildings in the background is probably 20 minutes, if not more, given the angle of the photo.
